Jake Wheeler Owner of Iconic Finishing

Jake started building a painting business with a close friend. He had a background in business management/graphic design prior to this. He grew up with a passion for all aspects of art including making music, graffiti art, and graphic design at an early age.

The discovery of the European & Italian wall finishes sparked a new passion which drove him to devote countless hours and profits in order to master the art of decorative finishes training with other plasterers and completing astonishing projects on the way.

Jake has an artistic ability that exceeds most and your standard house painting just wasn't cutting it.

It was then decided to devote our company to the application of many elegant decorative finishes so that we can specialize in enhancing spaces with the art of plaster.

Venetian Plaster
Venetian Plaster

It is the process adding a veneer limestone and marble coating to your walls with the use of Italian Plasters.  It can give an incredible sense of depth to any environment while also turning your wall to an art piece.

Imported all the way from Italy, Venetian plaster is a luxurious wall finish made of lime plaster and marble dust. The lime plaster is made from the mixture of fired/slaked limestone and an addition of dolomite marble dust. When applied to your walls/ceilings, it can leave almost any smooth surface with an amazing marble/stone appearance with an endless amount of ways to bring your ideas to life on your walls.

Grassello / Veneziano
Grassello / Veneziano

Made of lime putty and dolomite marble.

Made with a finer aggregate to produce a high gloss, smooth finish on walls. This can be done in any color you want with endless possibilities producing a smooth polished marble appearance. This can also be used to create a marbling effect with veining and gold leaf gilding. This can create Crocodile skin walls and many more ideas.  Also considered a Veneziano or a fine Marmorino.

Marmorino

Also made of a slaked lime putty and dolomite marble dust, just a bit of a coarser aggregate (sand) as to a Grassello is like a fine paste. This is another traditional style which can create a smooth stucco or stone appearance with the range of a matte appearance to a medium sheen.  Adds subtle depth to your walls while feeling like a smooth polished stone.  This can be used as an Exterior Plaster as well.

Lime Wash & Lime Paint
Lime Wash

Made of authentic slaked lime putty.  Can be diluted and tinted to achieve many different effects over a plaster.  Or done by many other techniques using a different consistency to achieve the same mineral properties with a different appearance.  This photo features the lime paint "limewash" effect.

Roman Clay
Roman Clay

Another Eco-Friendly finish consisting of a Gypsum Based Plaster.

This can produce a smooth to the touch finish that models a marble-like effect like a Venetian Plaster with a more subtle, organic look with a matte appearance. A top coat can add a small amount of sheen but protects it amazingly.

Microcement/ Tadelakt
Microcement/ Tadelakt

Both are commonly used in waterproofing required areas like showers. or flooring.  Tadelakt is an ancient Moroccan finish consisting of a Lime based plaster and the addition of a black soap made from olives.  Microcement is another stunning finish that gives you those soft subtle depths you see in plaster while having a durability & waterproof abilities of being on almost any surface including flooring and wet use areas like showers..  Both provide a waterproof finish commonly used in showers/bathrooms with a seamless stone appearance.
